GrootWorks Electrical (“GrootWorks,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your
privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we
collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to grootworks.ca and to any phone, text, or chat
communication you have with us.

Information you give us directly
When you submit a form, call us, text us, or use the chat widget on our site,
we may collect:
· your name
· your phone number
· your email address, if you provide one
· your service address or the city or town you’re in
· a description of the electrical work you need
· any other details you choose to share with us

Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we and our service providers may automatically
collect:
· your IP address and general location (city or region)
· your browser type, device type, and operating system
· the pages you viewed, how long you were on them, and the link or ad that
brought you to us
· cookie and similar identifiers, as described in section 6

We do not ask for and do not want financial account numbers, government
identification numbers, or health information. Please do not send these to us.

  1. WHY WE COLLECT IT

We use your personal information to:
· respond to your enquiry and give you a quote
· schedule, perform, and follow up on electrical work
· contact you about your job by phone, text, or email
· invoice you and keep business records required by law
· meet Alberta Electrical Code, permit, and safety obligations
· improve our website and understand which advertising works
· send you service-related messages such as appointment confirmations

We will not use your information for a new purpose without telling you first
and, where required, getting your consent.

  1. TEXT MESSAGING AND MOBILE INFORMATION

If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about your enquiry, your
quote, your appointment, or work we have done for you. Message and data rates
may apply. Message frequency varies.

You can stop receiving texts from us at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP
for help, or call us at 780-996-7764.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for
marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in
support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case
categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this
information will not be shared with any third parties.

  1. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade it.

We share it only in these situations:

Service providers. We use third-party companies to run our business —
for example, our website host, our customer relationship and messaging
platform, and our analytics and advertising providers. They may access
personal information only to perform services for us, and they are
required to protect it.

Subcontractors. If another licensed tradesperson or supplier is needed
to complete your job, we share only what is necessary to do the work.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information where required by law,
by a court order, or to protect the safety of a person or property.

Business transfer. If GrootWorks is sold or reorganized, customer
information may transfer as part of that transaction.

Some of our service providers store or process information on servers
located outside Canada, including in the United States. Where that happens,
the information may be accessible to authorities in those countries under
their laws.

  1. COOKIES AND ADVERTISING

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, to
measure how it is used, and to understand which advertising brings people to
us. This includes services such as Google Analytics and Google Ads.

These tools may set cookies that let us see, in aggregate, that a visit came
from a particular ad or search. We use this to measure results — not to
identify you personally to advertisers.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some parts of
our site may not work properly if you do.

  1. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to respond and to follow
up, and job and invoice records for as long as required by Canadian tax,
warranty, and electrical permit obligations — generally a minimum of seven
years. After that, we securely destroy or de-identify it.

  1. HOW WE PROTECT IT

We use reasonable physical, organizational, and technical safeguards
appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including access controls
and secure, password-protected systems. No method of transmission over the
internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  1. YOUR RIGHTS

Under Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada’s
Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you
have the right to:
· ask what personal information we hold about you
· ask for a copy of it
· ask us to correct it if it is wrong
· withdraw your consent to our use of it, subject to legal and contractual
restrictions and reasonable notice
· ask us to delete it, where we are not required to keep it

780-996-7764. We will respond within 45 days as required by law. There is no
charge for a reasonable request.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the
Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta at oipc.ab.ca.

  1. CHILDREN

Our services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us
information, contact us and we will delete it.

  1. LINKS TO OTHER SITES

Our website may link to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for
their privacy practices. Read their policies before giving them information.

  1. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top
shows when it last changed. Material changes will be posted on this page.
