Effective date: Sept. 11/2026
These terms govern your use of grootworks.ca and the services provided by
GrootWorks Electrical (“GrootWorks,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using this
site or requesting service from us, you agree to these terms.
1. ABOUT US

2. QUOTES AND PRICING
Published prices. Any flat prices shown on our website apply to standard
residential installations during regular business hours, in an existing,
accessible, code-compliant location. They assume no unexpected conditions.
When the price changes. If we open a box or begin work and find something
that materially changes the scope — undersized or damaged wiring, a
non-compliant existing installation, no ground, concealed damage, difficult
access, or anything that must be corrected to meet code — we will stop, tell
you what we found, and give you a revised price before continuing. You are
free to decline.
Quotes. Written quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise, and
are based on the information available at the time. Quotes do not include
permit fees, utility charges, drywall or finish repair, painting, or
disposal, unless we say so in writing.
Diagnostic visits. Where we charge a diagnostic or service fee, the amount
is disclosed before we attend. Where our website or quote says the fee is
credited to the repair, it is credited against work performed by GrootWorks
on the same visit or within 30 days.
Taxes. All prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude GST unless stated.
3. SCHEDULING AND ACCESS
Appointment times are estimates and may shift due to weather, emergencies,
or work running long at a previous job. We will contact you if your time
changes.
You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the work area, including
the electrical panel, and to secure pets. If we attend at a scheduled time
and cannot access the property or no one is present, a trip charge may apply.
Please tell us in advance about known hazards, including asbestos, mould,
vermiculite, knob-and-tube wiring, or aluminum wiring.
4. PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS
Certain electrical work requires a permit and inspection under Alberta law.
Where a permit is required, we will tell you, and permit fees are charged to
you at cost unless your quote states otherwise. You agree to allow the
authority having jurisdiction access to inspect the work.
5. PAYMENT
Payment is due on completion unless other terms are agreed in writing. For
larger projects we may require a deposit or progress payments.
Accounts not paid within 30 days may be subject to interest at 1.5% per
month (19.56% per year) on the outstanding balance. You are responsible for
reasonable costs of collection.
6. WARRANTY
We warrant our workmanship for one year from the date of completion. If our
work fails within that period due to our workmanship, we will correct it at
no charge to you.
Materials and equipment carry the manufacturer’s warranty only, and we pass
that warranty through to you. We are not the manufacturer and do not extend
it.
This warranty does not cover:
· work altered, repaired, or interfered with by anyone other than GrootWorks
· damage from misuse, abuse, overloading, accident, fire, flood, pests,
power surge, or utility supply issues
· failure of existing wiring, equipment, or systems we did not install
· normal wear of lamps, bulbs, batteries, and consumables
· cosmetic finish work such as drywall, paint, or trim
To make a warranty claim, contact us at 780-996-7764 or
grootworks.electrical@gmail.com with a description of the issue.
7. YOUR EXISTING ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
We are responsible for the work we perform. We are not responsible for the
condition, capacity, or code compliance of pre-existing wiring, panels, or
devices that we did not install and were not engaged to inspect or replace.
If we identify a safety concern outside the scope of the job we were hired
to do, we will tell you. Acting on that information is your decision.
8. CANCELLATION
You may cancel or reschedule a booked appointment at no charge with at least
24 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less notice, or a no-show at the
scheduled time, may be subject to a trip charge.
We may decline or cancel work where conditions are unsafe, where access is
not provided, or where the work would require us to breach the Alberta
Electrical Code or any other law.

your use of this website.
Our total liability for any claim relating to a job is limited to the amount

by law. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury
caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under
Alberta law.

as required in Alberta. Proof of coverage is available on request before

the courts of Alberta.
14. CHANGES
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top
shows when they last changed. The version in effect when you booked your job
applies to that job.
